Seeking Performers for Paid Project "Monumentum"
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Casting performers for the intensive development workshop of MONUMENTUM, the next large-scale immersive theatre production. Please, see the details below. About the project: MONUMENTUM transports participants into the chaotic, emotional landscape of Conor Blaine, the enigmatic leader of the art firm Wolfsburg. The production unfolds during "Media Circus," a high-profile launch event for Wolfsburg's new record label, Lupus Nuda. Set within a feudal structure of artists, lovers, and employees, the event begins as a glossy industry party but quickly devolves into a psychological battleground. As Conor manipulates those closest to him, including his cynical right-hand Margot, his anxious boyfriend Dorian, and his former lover Veronica, he reveals a terrifying capacity to see the potential outcomes of other universes. Driven by this knowledge, Conor begins ruthlessly reshaping the monument, altering the reality of the night to ensure his legacy thrives. Rate: Paid Opportunity (Professional Fees) + Daily Catered Lunches. Additional information: Production Dates: May 11-15 & 25, 2026. Location: Montreal. This 6-day residency is designed to further the development of the script and stress-test the immersive narrative mechanics of the piece within the site-specific environment. The ensemble will utilize Jamieson’s specific Strategies of Immersion methodology to dissolve the barrier between performer and observer. 7 role s
Conor’s partner and a musician debuting his new project, "The Margrave." Character Arc: Anxious and viewed as a “parasite" by the rest of the group, he performs "Industrial Noise" live. He is ultimately heartbroken when Conor breaks up with him publicly to "reshape the monument," realizing he was never part of Conor's "Design." Requirements: Musician/Vocalist preferred. (Live musical performance is not required for this workshop).
A recording artist signed to Lupus Nuda and Conor’s former lover. Character Arc: She arrives furious after discovering she has been cut from the performance lineup and that her album distribution has been sold to another label without her consent. She shares a volatile dynamic with Conor and is openly hostile toward Dorian, whom she blames for her exclusion. She is eventually coerced into compliance by Conor’s reminders of "The Design".
Conor’s long-term friend who harbors an unrequited love for him. Character Arc: Described by Conor as a "barnacle," Tony is a heavy drinker who spirals throughout the night. He desperately wants Conor to read his poem, "Very," onstage. When he discovers Conor threw it in the trash, he causes a scene and is forcefully removed by security, serving as the example of someone being "written out" of the narrative.
Tony’s boyfriend and enabler. Character Arc: He insists on being called "Maxime" (Conor calls him Max to annoy him). He claims to be a model and writer who edited Tony’s poem. He is largely dismissive of the others but defensively loyal to Tony, eventually following him when he is kicked out of the venue. Requirements: Bilingual (French/English) required; French as a first language is preferred.
A musician signed to the label. Character Arc: He struggles with severe intoxication and anxiety over a visiting talent booker. Conor manipulates him by lying about canceling his designer to teach him a lesson about boundaries. Despite being wasted, he must pull it together to perform his set before being sent home. Requirements: Musician/Vocalist preferred. (Live musical performance is not required for this workshop).
A poet and the show’s opener. She is one of the few characters with a genuinely positive connection to Conor, who funds her book tour. She is observant, cynical about "safe spaces," and serves as a bridge between the intense drama of the inner circle and the public nature of the event. She is aware of the "Media Circus" deception while others are not.
The Founder of Veil Press and the evening’s secret Host. Character Arc: She believes in creating "safe spaces" and nurturing art, unaware that Conor plans to eventually oust her after fully acquiring her company. She is viewed as "insufferable" by Margot but believes she shares a synergy with Wolfsburg. She hosts the event with a naive optimism that contrasts with the toxicity around her.
