A dog, maybe a Labradoodle. Street smart and a little flirtatious, she commands every room she enters. The role is physically demanding. Sylvia will walk as a person but will act like a dog, e.g. “sitting”, “rolling over” and climbing on furniture.
A middle-aged, empty-nester and finance professional who is looking for more meaning in his life. He finds and bonds deeply with Sylvia.
Greg's wife, a public-school English teacher who is less enthusiastic about Sylvia and is looking forward to newfound independence as her children leave home.
TOM (Any age) Male - A man Greg meets at the dog park who offers advice. PHYLISS: (45-65) Female - A socialite and old school friend of Kate’s. She is put off by Sylvia, to say the least. LESLIE: (35-60) Non-Binary - A gender-non-conforming marriage counselor whom Greg and Kate consult.
