Jerry is Amber’s husband. Quiet, intelligent, emotionally understated. On the surface, he appears dependable and unremarkable — someone who avoids conflict rather than causes it. He is not flashy, not dominant, not overtly deceptive. What makes Jerry compelling is contrast: the gap between how he is perceived and what may be true beneath that surface.
Todd is a colleague within the same professional ecosystem as Amber. Competent, likable, and seemingly transparent. He is not overtly manipulative or antagonistic. What makes Todd unsettling is his ordinariness — he appears honest, reasonable, and emotionally accessible. As the story unfolds, ambiguity around his intentions grows. Whether Todd is hiding something, misunderstood, or simply human is never fully resolved.
Look Preference: Grey hair or bald preferred. The VP is a senior executive at a tech company — composed, experienced, and emotionally distant. He communicates authority through restraint rather than force. He never explains more than necessary. He never raises his voice. The pressure he applies is subtle, deliberate, and unmistakable. This character represents institutional power — calm on the surface, immovable underneath.
Lead role. Amber is a high-performing Director of Sales at a tech company. Outwardly confident and disciplined, she is internally restless and unable to feel content. She is addicted to the chase—always moving forward, never celebrating wins. When Amber gains access to an experimental technology, she begins to rely on it too heavily. The technology destabilizes her judgment, blurring truth, error, and perception.
