Singing Opportunities in "Firebringer" Production

Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano (F3-D5) Jamila The Peacemaker is the calm level headed leader of the tribe. Charismatic, Confident, protective, and motherly, but a little arrogant and stuck in past ways.

Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano (G3-D5) The tribe’s scapegoat. Blamed very everything bad that happens. A Creative and innovative, but lazy inventor. Revolutionary thinker, but doesn’t always consider the consequences of their actions.

Vocal Range: Non Singing Role. Molag The War Master. The tribe’s former leader who has passed on the role to Jemilla, and is now walking the Earth while serving as our comic narrator. They still want this character to be comedic but also a villain in this story. A comparison that I often make is Frank from Shameless if you’ve ever seen that show.

Mezzo-Soprano (G3-D5) Emberly takes their role as tribe taste-tester VERY seriously. Becoming the world’s first sort of chef. Analytical, cautious but curious to learn or experience new things. Her love story with Grunt serves as the B plot to this story.

Vocal Range: High Baritone (C3-F4) An Outsider to the tribe. Timid and sensitive, wants to feel included and tries hard to do so despite failures. They invent painting and shares this passion with Emberly.

Vocal Range: Alto or high baritone (G3-E5) Sings in an “Enya type voice” at the end of the show. The odd one of the tribe. Their vocabulary is seemingly limited. They do attempt to communicate to the tribe despite this to a varying degree of success. In the end it is revealed that they are an ethereal alien that was sent down to monitor and aid the progression on human life.

Vocal Range: Mezzo-soprano (A3-C5) The tribe’s head gatherer and Zazzalil’s supportive Best Friend. Not too bright, but kind and empathetic. Very bubbly. She invents dancing.

Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano (A3-D5) The tribe entertainer who invents the first joke and keeps her tribe in stitches. Turning their own name into their own catchphrase.

High Baritone (A2-F4) The official religous leader and mouth piece of the all mighty duck the tribe worships. Uses position in the tribe for his own gain. Self-serving, opportunistic and privileged.

Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano (B3-D5) Loyal and dedicated to the tribe and their task. Holding up the sky. Absolutely crushed to find out the sky is holding itself up just fine. A hopeless romantic. Innocent, yet determined.

Vocal Range: High baritone (A2-F4) Fancies himself the protector of the tribe. Not so bright. When it comes to bravery, all bark and no bite. The first to step up to the plate despite rarely ever hitting the ball.

The ensemble will understudy some of the leads in addition to puppeting the animals and playing the neanderthals in act 2. They also will be in dances symbolizing forces of nature such as the storm or the fire. As well as Chorns tribe of Aliens at the end of the show.
