About the project: Twenty-year-old Jonah and his much older sister, Malia, don’t have much in common. Despite being roommates, they mostly stay out of each other’s ways. That is, until Malia becomes a suspect in the ongoing investigation surrounding several recent homicides. Suddenly, Jonah begins questioning every interaction he or his girlfriend has ever had with her. His growing suspicions eventually lead him to the police station, where he’s forced to set aside his hatred for the police. Rate: Non union. Submitting to film festivals. Screening at a theatre. Average build, average height, relaxed, self-focused. Jonah is your average young 20s working man. Between his job hours, he lives in a modest home and spends his free time with his new girlfriend or playing video games. That is, until he begins to suspect his sister of being a murderer, at which point he becomes increasingly paranoid and acts impulsively.
Average build. Bo is a hardworking woman. Nowadays, she spends most of her time working towards her retirement plan at her low-paying job or visiting her adult daughter out of town. She’s always been very independent and brave, even in potentially life-threatening situations.
Quiet, Smart, Blunt. Malia is the (much) older sister of Jonah. She doesn’t concern herself with small talk. She tells herself she’s too smart for that and that’s why she’s never really gotten good at casual interactions. Despite that barrier, she’s typically pleasant to be around – if a bit reclusive.
Average height, average build, clean-shaven. The detective is stubborn in his absolute confidence about the details of the murder case he’s working on and who he thinks committed the crime. He also takes the interactions he has with people on the job personally, allowing his opinions of people to get in the way of his work.
Cassandra is Jonah’s new girlfriend. They’re young, and she’s infatuated with him. Recently, she’s spent the majority of her free time talking to or about Jonah.
