Theatre Casting Call for "Newsies"

Singing auditions for "Newsies" open to male and female performers. See details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Callbacks will be held on December 13th (and 14th if necessary). Two weeks of performances in April. Performances on April 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th Rehearsal schedule is TBD. Will be flexible with conflicts so long as they are brought to attention at auditions and do not conflict with tech week (Apr. 12th through 15th) or performances. What to Bring: 1 minute dramatic monologue (memorized). Song in the style of the show. 16-32 bars (30 to 60 seconds). A Bluetooth speaker will be provided. Please bring a backing track (also known as a karaoke track) to play off your phone. No a acapella singing. For callbacks, please wear clothes you can move around in. We will be dancing. Auditions will be closed. Arrive anytime between 7 pm to 9 pm, and people will be called in the order they arrived. Parents will be asked to wait in the lobby. You will come in, introduce yourself, perform your monologue, and then sing. For callbacks, arrive by 7 pm. Expect to stay until 9 pm. Parents may wait in the lobby or return when they finish. The directors will be reading sides, singing sides, and dancing. If you are interested please apply.
