"When She Knocked" - Student Short Film

TIANA A woman carrying deep emotional wounds beneath a strong exterior. Tiana is sharp, guarded, and fed up after discovering her husband’s infidelity with her former best friend. When the film opens, she’s packing to leave town — mentally and emotionally done. She’s fiery, expressive, and not afraid to confront betrayal head-on, but underneath that anger is a broken heart longing for closure. Strong emotional range required: anger, hurt, vulnerability, and softening into forgiveness.

JADA Tiana’s ex-best friend. Confident on the surface but guilt-ridden underneath. She shows up on Tiana’s doorstep desperate for a chance to explain, owning her mistakes while wrestling with her own heartbreak — because the same man betrayed her too. Jada is emotional, impulsive, and raw. She pushes her way in, determined to make things right, even as she breaks down. Actor must be comfortable with heightened emotional scenes, confrontation, crying, and moments of tender reconciliation.
