About the project: "Argent" is a short film showcasing the rise and fall of two unnamed lovers in a damaging but undeniably mesmerizing relationship, shown from the perspective of a voyeur watching them. Their story is told through the narration of the voyeur’s poetry about the couple, and no dialogue can be heard from either of the actors on set, with a heavy emphasis on body acting. Rate: Non-Union. Food will be provided, as this is a student film, everything is volunteer basis only, but any work done can be used as work to add onto a resume. An alluring woman in her 20s gets caught up with the thrill of a new relationship. She’s aware of the danger and knows something is wrong, and can’t help but get caught up in a sweeping new romance. She is incredibly carnal, but only shows it when it’s just them. She is driven by her impulsivity and limerence.
A charismatic man with a shadowy demeanor is drawn to this woman who is unpredictable at every turn. He is the basis of her chaos, but also his reasonability is what brings them together. His passion drives his every action, for better or for worse. He’s highly emotional, but guarded in his presentation.
The narrator. Obsessed with the narrative he’s concocted of this entrancing couple, he writes poetry detailing the inner thoughts he has about their lives. His writing is intimate and invading, He sounds like a classic storyteller who now finds himself enamored by their morbid beauty. He tries to capture a beauty and intensity that is never truly his to understand. Fueled by the unrealistic romanticization of these strangers, his narration carries a subdued sense of excitement and artistry.
