Theater Audition for "Rattle" Play
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking performers for production of "Rattle". Please, see the details below. About the play: Winnipeg, Manitoba. Two ordinary homes in the North End. The homes are situated on the same side of the block on either corner. October 2017. Note: This play is based on the lives of two 60s Scoop Survivors, Roberta MacKinnon and Robert Doucette who have provided consent, and given their blessing. Additional information: Rehearsals begin in Winnipeg MAY 5th, 2026 with Performances JUNE 3rd to JUNE 7th, 2026. Equity performers to be engaged under CAEA D.O.T. contract (Tier 1). She/her, actor should be at least 18 but can be older, and be able to play a Grade 12 student. Metis. Daughter of Dan and Lina. She has her own style. Stands up for what she believes, often to her detriment. She’s kind of a brat. Yet has qualities like her mom and dad. Grade 12 student.
He/ him. First Nations. Plays guitar) Lives with his mom. He lost his father when he was ten. He plays electric guitar and sings. Helps out a local mechanic. Dresses in black – denim and leather. Wears dark sunglasses or props them up on his forehead. Struggles in his relationship with his mom. He’s underestimated by others. She/her, the character is Polish Canadian. Grew up in a Polish block in the North End. Works as a nurse and supervisor for Medical Services Branch and travels north regularly. Spends days away from home. Knows her own mind and is not afraid to express herself. Cares deeply about others. Her surname is pronounced Chai-ya.
