About the project: There’s magic to do when you learn the true meaning of glory, love and war in musical theatre giant Stephen Schwartz’s iconic and unforgettable musical masterpiece Pippin. With an infectiously unforgettable score, Pippin is the story of one young man’s journey to be extraordinary. Guided by a mysterious troupe of performers and led by the eerily charismatic Leading Player, Pippin explores various paths, including war, political power, love, and the simple life. Each venture leaves him more and more unsatisfied, pushing him to discover what truly makes life meaningful. But what will be left after The Grand Finale? Known for its memorable songs like “Magic to Do” and “Corner of the Sky, ” Pippin is a captivating blend of spectacle, introspection, and theatrical magic. Rate: All performers are guaranteed a $100 honorarium to cover the costs of transportation for rehearsals plus a $15 honorarium per performance. Note that this is strictly a non-union production. Additional info: Rehearsals will begin on Monday, August 25, 2025. The rehearsal schedule will be provided in advance of the first rehearsal based on performer availability. The production runs November 10-October 2, 2025, with performances Thursday – Saturday at 8pm and Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. No conflicts with performance dates will be permitted.

Actively seeking performers of all gender identities for this role. Pippin is a bright and headstrong young man who sets out on a fantastical voyage to find his purpose in life. He dabbles in everything from Art to War, but is ultimately left unsatisfied. Catherine helps to pull him from the darkness, but can he resist the call of The Finale?
Gremlin presenting character. Actively seeking performers of all gender identities for this role. Pippin’s guide and leader of the Players. The Leading Player guides Pippin through the play, pushing him towards the Grand FInale! The Leading Player offers Pippin purpose, but hides something much more sinister. The Leading Player must command the stage and charm the audience, whilst also creating a sense of unease and dread.
Male Presenting character. Charlemagne is Pippin’s father and the king. The part is to be played by an actor of immense power. Brash and strong-willed, Charlemagne only accepts things Charlemagne’s way. He is much more comfortable with a sword than with a pen.
Female presenting character. Charlemagne’s exiled mother and Pippin’s grandmother. Berthe pushes Pippin to live life to the fullest, but at what cost? Berthe is a powerful and brassy woman who lives life her own way
Female presenting character. Actively seeking performers of all gender identities for this role. Catherine is the widowed mother of Theo, and head of a not too small estate. She encounters Pippin at his lowest point, and they begin to bring each other out of the darkness.
Female Presenting Character. Pippin’s half mother and Charlemagne’s wife. A cunning and wily woman who will do whatever it takes to get ahead and put her son Lewis on the throne. (Strong dance experience preferred)
Male presenting character. Actively seeking performers of all gender identities for this role. Catherine’s young son. His best friend is Otto the Duck.
Theo’s duck. He dies.**
Pippin’s half brother and Fastrada’s meathead son. The only thing Lewis loves more than war is Lewis. (strong dance experience preferred.)
The Players. They play warriors, lovers, subjects of Charlemagne, vaudevillians and a whole lot more. The players are used throughout the show to tell the story and push Pippin toward the ultimate FInale. Performers playing the players will need dance experience, and endurance.
