ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking actors to play roles in production of "Why Are You Running". More details are bellow. About the project: This is a somewhat experimental film and installation that follows the main character Maria, as she returns to places of her life with the intention of expressing gratitude. This plot is explored through Maria physically running from location to location and encountering moments from her past. Rate: Non-Union. Unpaid/Volunteer. Lunch and demo footage provided. Additional information: Shoot/Performance Date(s) November 29th-December 1st. Shoot/Performance Location(s) Vancouver, BC. Any person submitting for the role of Maria MUST be able to support running scenes in the film. Submission Deadline November 25, 2024. When appllying, please submit your demo reel and head shot.

This character explores the feeling of gratitude and the notion that: in order to love who you are, you cannot hate the experiences that shaped you. LEAD.
Male-presenting actors are encouraged to submit. Maria's partner who supports her in a painful moment. SUPPORTING.
Women-presenting actors are encouraged to submit. Maria's best friend, they appear together in a flashback moment and re-live a genuine memory from their teen-hood. SUPPORTING.
Maria's mother. Her and her daughter reflect on their relationship and heal a piece of their past. SUPPORTING.
