About the project: Patti works as a companion for a rent-a-friend agency in Vancouver. One day, she is assigned to Koji, a tourist who is interested in taking scenic photos with his 35mm film camera. Over the course of their meeting, their interactions reveal vulnerabilities of themselves as they explore the sights and sounds of the city. Rtae: Non-Union. Volunteer project. Patti is a recent university graduate working as a companion/tour guide in her hometown of Vancouver. She is intelligent, inquisitive, and a real people-pleaser. Her awkward sense of humour helps bridge the cultural gaps with her clients, but it also masks the uncertainties she has about her own existence.
Koji is a lonesome traveler from East Asia with a passion for photography. A calm and introspective person who is capable of finding joy in being in the present moment. He has been put through the wringer but maintains a profound curiosity about the world around him.
Ali is an awkward and shy person from abroad who feels more at ease and opens up to Patti during their meeting.
