Sweaty Situation Student Film Volunteers Needed
Our student-led film project is a slapstick comedy revolving around the story of a well-meaning, nervous young man whose excessive sweating and persistent clumsiness derail every attempt at landing a job. Through a series of chaotic interviews and mortifying mishaps, he begins to realize that his greatest flaw might just open the door to an unexpected opportunity—one that fits him better than he ever imagined. This is a volunteer project. Food, coffee and snacks will be provided throughout the day. For consideration, submit your resume, picture, contact info, demo reel, and state the character(s) you're interested in taking part in as well as your availability to audition on Oct.30.
3 roles
a quirky, down-to-earth, and genuinely enthusiastic young man who is on a relentless quest to find a job. Despite his kind-hearted and optimistic nature, he battles a unique personal challenge: he has an exceptionally sweaty hands condition that consistently interferes with his efforts to secure employment. The role calls for someone with a sense of expressiveness, and the ability to convey Sam’s resilience and charm through his quirks.
The Interviewer is a polished, no-nonsense professional, someone who values precision, composure, and efficiency. Known for their stoic demeanour and high standards, they take pride in conducting interviews with a focus on punctuality and professionalism. However, they find themselves increasingly exasperated and perplexed by Sam’s unconventional behaviour and nervous quirks, especially his uncontainable sweating.
The Cashier is a patient, slightly deadpan individual who has seen just about everything in their retail job. In their mid-to-late 20s, they possess a calm, unbothered demeanor that contrasts sharply with Sam’s nervous energy. As they scan items with practiced efficiency, Sam opens grocery bags swiftly.
