About the project: Based on the 2005 film and inspired by a true story, KINKY BOOTS follows Charlie Price, an aspiring young businessman who is forced to give up his dreams of living the London city life in order to save his late father’s family business in Northern England. When Charlie suddenly inherits his father’s bankrupt shoe factory, he finds unexpected inspiration in the form of Lola, a fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos. As Charlie and Lola work to turn the factory around, this unlikely pair finds that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible… and discovers that when you change your mind about someone, you can change your whole world. Additional information: Callbacks will be held Saturday, February 25th from 7-11 PM. All auditioners should be prepared to attend and notice will be last minute. Please note this a group audition and you will be singing with your fellow auditioners. Directors ask that you prepare 2 minutes of either a pop / rock or contemporary musical theatre song. Come ready to perform - they want to see your acting through song. Please provide a backing track for your song - there is no accompanist available. No a cappella auditions. All audition groups will have a dance call - while intense, it will be adapted for all skill levels and abilities. Bring clothing and shoes that are comfortable to dance in, heels preferred. FRC policy requires all participants of the productions, in any capacity, to be FULLY VACCINATED against COVID-19. Prior to auditioning, all participants may be required to show proof of full vaccination. Rehearsals will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7-10 and Saturdays from 1-5:30 starting immediately on Tuesday February 28. Please note that it is expected that all conflicts be noted at the time of audition. Any additional conflicts after this date will require production team approval.
