About the project: Synopsis: A screwball comedy from the master of farce! When a world-renowned opera star ends up passed out in a hotel room before he is due on stage, a lowly office assistant is persuaded to don his costume and go on in his place. But when our star revives, hilarity ensues. Mix two tenors in two identical costumes with a singing bellhop and a seductive soprano, and you get the chaos of operatic proportions. Additional info: - Participation fee required. - What to prepare: No advance preparation is necessary. Auditioners will be asked to read sides from the script. Copies of audition sides can be found on the Winni Players audition page of the website and will be printed and available at auditions. To be considered for Tito or Max, be prepared to do a bit of improv opera singing! Community members of all backgrounds, experiences, and ethnicities are encouraged to attend. - *All actors choosing to participate in a production who are eligible (according to age and medical condition) to be vaccinated against COVID-19 are strongly encouraged to be fully vaccinated. “Fully vaccinated” is defined as having received two doses of Pfizer or Moderna plus booster(s) OR one dose of Johnson & Johnson plus booster(s). Rehearsals: There will be a full-company read-through on Sunday, February 26th from 5:00- 9:00 PM. - This production will rehearse Sundays 5:00-9:00 PM, and Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6:00-9:00 PM. Not all actors will be called for every rehearsal. - Tech Week: Tech and Dress Rehearsals are on April 19th and April 23-26. All tech/dress rehearsals and performances are mandatory and may, therefore, only be missed in the case of the most extreme illness or emergency.
