"When It's Dark Out," a survival thriller following two siblings as they navigate the post apocalyptic, violent world. After losing his father, Sebastian (18) a reckless and broken teenage boy, makes it his goal to inflict his pain onto others. His younger sister, Samantha (14), is the moral compass, forcing him to change his way of thinking. We are filming this project on April 1st- April 15th and expect this shoot to take no longer than 7 days. This is an unpaid student short film shooting in Colorado. Sebastian is a broken, cold hearted character shaped by the violent world he lives in. After witnessing the gruesome death of his father, he makes it his goal to inflict his pain onto others in a world where laws are no longer in effect. The typical hero in this situation will make it their goal to protect their loved ones and only get their hands dirty if it means saving those they love. Sebastian doesn't think this way. He is an Anti-Hero with no restraints and a lust for violence.
Samantha is forced into a mother-like position, trying to bring her brother into the light and see the good in people. She believes that people can change and that not everyone is evil. When her brother Sebastian is on the verge of losing his mind, she puts him in check and ultimately saves him.
