Agatha Christie's "Witness for the Prosecution" Needs Actors
The company is holding auditions for "Witness for the Prosecution" by Agatha Christie, and looking for actors, please see the details below. Additional info: Possible callbacks on Wednesday, February 8 @ 7 pm. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. All ethnicities are encouraged to audition. Rehearsals will begin Monday, May 8, and will generally be held Monday through Thursday nights @ 7 pm, with some possible weekends. Performances: June 16 through July 2, 2023. Accused of murdering an elderly female friend; Attractive, friendly and charming, he claims to be innocent- but his wife tells a different story. (LEAD)
Brilliant but cantankerous Queen’s Council barrister who is defending Leonard; He has a high opinion of himself but not above admitting to being baffled by the case. (LEAD)
Leonard Vole’s solicitor; He is shrewd, dry and precise.
Queen’s Council barrister for the prosecution, he has a long, personal rivalry with Sir Wilfrid that sometimes spills out in the courtroom.
Chief Clerk for Sir Wilfrid Robarts; She is efficient, stern and humorless.
Sir Wilfrid’s typist; She is young and attractive, with more heart than brains – much to the consternation of Miss Carter.
The Judge, who presides over the case seriously but with occasional flashes of humor.
In charge of the Emily French investigation, he is no-nonsense, capable and polite. He arrests Leonard and testifies at the trial.
Dour Scotswoman who was the live-in companion to Emily French, the deceased. Despite being hard of hearing, she believes she heard Leonard with Emily the night she was killed. Scottish accent needed.
Police surgeon who gives evidence on the witness stand.

Leonard’s German-born wife and the play’s title character; Mysterious and quietly confident, she can command a room with the force of her personality. She surprises the defense when she turns up in court with a very different story from Leonard’s. For the purposes of the plot, actor must be able to do a German and Cockney accent. (LEAD)
