About the project: Synopsis: In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he’s had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom! "This irreverently humorous “comedic romp” reinvigorates the very notion of what a musical could be, with wickedly modern wit and sustained unbridled laughter!" Additional info: Preparation: Vocal Audition: Please Prepare 16 bars from a Contemporary Broadway Show in the style of Urinetown: Backing tracks or a capella will be acceptable. There will be a Dance Audition: Please dress comfortably and wear appropriate shoes for movement. For Callbacks: Please be prepared to cold read selections from the libretto.
