The company is holding auditions for the "Footlight Frenzy" Show and looking for actors, please see the details below. About the project: In a desperate attempt to save their bankrupt "School for Unusual Children", an inexperienced PTA group valiantly mounts an ambitious benefit play, written by a has been Broadway director. His near hysterical direction and the group's questionable talent turn the production into a shambles. The scenes shift back and forth from the real tribulations of the performers to the play they are "performing", and it is hard to tell which is sillier. This is fast and furious theatrical fun of the first order, with us watching the fun from the "back" of the stage! This fast-moving slapstick farce is from the creators of Bullshot Crummond and El Grande de Coca Cola! Rate: This is a non-equity, volunteer position. Additional info: In person auditions will consist of sides from the script. Have a resume and headshot available and know future conflict dates through the rehearsal period and performances (April 28-May 21). SHOW RUNS: April 28, 2023, to May 21, 2023 PERFORMANCES: Fridays and Saturdays, 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm REHEARSALS: February 27 to April 27, 2023 Content Warning: This show contains sexual innuendo, drug use, and intimacy (kissing), as well as the physicality of stunt work.

Plays Addie Starr – Nightclub singer, engaged (later married) to Nicky. Kisses Paul. As Addie kisses Chas (Alex). Should not be afraid of popping balloons.

Maniacal has been a Broadway director who sees this show as the way back to the big time. At times gets so upset/angry that he blacks out and cannot remember what happened for the past 5 minutes. Plays Uncle Julian Vandermorgan – Nicky and Gwen’s cantankerous elder uncle who controls the money. Should not be afraid of heights.

Drama teacher. Wants to break out of this little town and head to Hollywood. Plays Gwendolyn Vandermorgan – debutante who falls for bad men. Kisses Benny. Appears onstage in various stages of undress.

School janitor. Stage Manager for show. Nerdy, shy, unsure of himself. Ends up playing Johnny Chicago – The gangster. Think James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, and Edward G. Robinson rolled into one character. Owns the Hotsy Totsy Club. Kisses Debbie. Should not be afraid of heights. Should be good with physical comedy. Some stunts.
