Seeking male and female performers for the "Not a Word" show. Please see the details below. Synopsis: Mrs. Florence Callahan’s Wayfarer Boarding House is a temporary home for many of Hollywood’s hopeful Silent Film Stars. The latest arrivals are Miriam Van Hiberhauser, a young naive aspiring actress, and Albert (Bertie) Bushkov, a self-proclaimed poet and writer. As luck would have it, Miriam’s acting career takes a turn for the good as she lands the leading role in “A Spy Without a Cause,” while Bertie’s endeavors are going nowhere. Having developed an affinity for Bertie, Miriam decides to leave the film if Bertie is not hired as the film’s writer. Throw in an unconventional, dictatorial director, an absentminded script girl, a part-time make-up artist/fortune teller, a legally blind cameraman, and an egotistical, untalented Italian, prima-donna actor, and the film is inherently set up for disaster…or is it? Known as Bertie. Sincere, rational, and all around nice guy. A true gentleman and wannabe film writer. Is attracted to Miriam.
The ideal follower. She does what she’s told. Insecure, yet looking for more in life. Outside the comfort of her home and routine job, she is a duck out of water.
Legally blind and wears exceptionally thick glasses. Treats his deficiency with humor. Sees himself as independent. Has a distasteful feeling for Lorenzo Primadoni.
Egotistical and in love with himself. Typical Italian lover. Sees himself as a great actor; yet the critics see it differently. Thick Italian accent.
A fan of film director Erich Von Stroheim. Harsh, quick tempered and obnoxious. He is all show with no credentials. Pretends to know more than he actually does.
