About the project: In an attempt to save the family business, The Phoenix Lottery offers its winner instant fame and fortune: the chance to publicly torch a prized van Gogh. It is an exploration of art, commerce, organized religion, and untidy family relationships. In this grand comedy, there’s a keen eye for the masks with which society maintains the commodification of art and celebrity and the value placed on them. Rate: This is a paid performance.
