About the project: As Jo March and her sisters grow up in the middle of the Civil War, they strive to be brave, intelligent, and imaginative young women. As adulthood approaches, each sister must negotiate her private ambitions with society’s expectations. In a war-torn world defined by gender, class, and personal tragedy, these four dreamers are destined to be resilient “little women”. The oldest of the March girls; beautiful, no-nonsense.
A misfit with big dreams; outspoken, chafes at all things having to do with being a lady in 1860s America. Should be able to whistle!
Will be cast to play three roles: Hannah, the housekeeper and cook (and drill sergeant) of the March clan. Ability to do an Irish dialect would be ideal. Mrs. Mingott, a snooty rich woman who loves to look down on the March girls. Aunt March, the DREADED rich aunt; self-righteous, cruel and demanding.

Laurie’s tutor, a bit ‘stuffy’ and ‘rigid,’ but a good man.
Will play 5 roles: Mr. Laurence, Laurie’s stern grandfather Mr. Dashwood, an odious publisher Father March, the war-torn patriarch of the March clan (non-speaking) Horrible Man, the poor chap Mrs. Mingott drums up to dance with Jo at the ball (non-speaking) Doctor (non-speaking)
