About the project: Excitement runs high in this musical adaptation of a favorite childhood adventure story. Robert Louis Stevenson’s thrilling tale of pirates, treasure maps, mutiny on the high seas and pieces of eight follows Jim Hawkins, an ordinary youth who is drawn into a dangerous race for buried treasure against the treacherous Long John Silver. As the author himself wrote, “If this don’t fetch the kids, why, they have gone rotten since my day.” Additional info: No appointment is necessary. Invited callbacks will be TBD. What to Bring: Please come with sheet music to a prepared song (16-32 bars) in the classic Broadway style. An accompanist will be provided. Have a second song prepared in the event you are asked to sing again. Dress to dance. Please bring a list of conflicts for rehearsals. Conflicts must be included in audition form and will affect casting. Rehearsals: Begin Sunday, November 13 – The show will rehearse Sunday through Thursday evenings, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Only actors in the songs and scenes being rehearsed will be called to rehearsal. The full cast will be called Monday, January 2 through Thursday, January 12. Tech: Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. (Dinner Break) and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Mandatory) Performances: Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays/Sundays at 2:00 p.m., January 13- 22 with two school outreach performances on Thursday, January 19 at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
