Singer/Dancer/Actors Sought For Musical "Matilda"
Auditions for musical "Matilda". Casting performers. Please see the breakdown below. Additional info: The role of Trunchbull is open to both male and female actors. All ages, types and experience levels are encouraged to audition for all roles. Audition will be comprised of three parts: 1. Singing: please sing 16-24 bars from the show if possible. If not, plese prepare a song in the style of the show. Bring your own backing track - speaker will be provided. 2. Acting - please memorize a monologue from the audition monologues. Will have copies of the monologues at auditions as well. If time allows, directors will do additional readings from the script. 3. Dance - choreographer will teach a short dance combination. Nothing needs to be prepared ahead of time - just be prepared to move around. You may change shoes or clothes if desired before dance audition. Audition monologues are attached. The bullying headmistress of Matilda's school, who uses her former discipline as an Olympic shot-put champion to terrorize her ‘maggot’ students. Baritone: A2 to G4
Matilda's kindhearted teacher. A mild, quiet person who never raises her voice and seldom seems to smile. She is adored by every child under her care. Mezzo Soprano: F3 to D5
